Theory of continental drift

The theory of continental drift is a theory that say that the tectonic plates there aren’t quite, it says that they are in contiuos movement.

It was the theory of a german scientist called Alfred Wegener, he desarrollated its theory in 1915, but the rest of  scientists weren’t apollated it because he doesnt´t had exactly evidences. Later in 1960 a group of scientists found more evidences and demostrated its theory. Alfred Wegener said that the continents far away time, formed an only big continent called later Pangea.

He said that because he had some evidences:

  • Geographic evidences: he noticed that the continents can fix toguether like the pieces of a puzzle.
  • Paleontological evidences: he realised that some fossil animals was in coast very far away and that animals couldn’t swim or fly.
  • Climatic evidences: he observed that in some places like the Ecuator , there are glaciars fossil and in its current places it was impossible.
  • geologic evidences: he observed that in deferent continets  we can find mountains with the same age.
